The USA uniforms are so ugly, uninspired, and insipidly bland that it's no wonder that the men's soccer play too often descends to the same level. The god-awful sash and it's supposed honoring of the 1950 team is part and parcel of the same ugly package. And the gaudy, construction zone colored shoes help to create an ambiance or an overall sense that this team is destined for genuine ignominy on the World Cup stage. Nike, with its gaudy, over-sized logo on the front of the shirts, should be embarrassed to even have its name attached to this monstrosity, much less complete responsibility for its design.
