Or so says Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl. Story highlights include:
- Qatar is probably the U.S.’ biggest threat to hosting the 2022 World Cup
- The U.S. delegation feels that it has the strongest bid on paper
- The 2018 host appears to be a choice between Russia and England
It’s interesting to note that U.S. Soccer and MLS is salivating at the prospects to massively promote their interests in the 12 years leading up to the event. Decision coming down later this week.
