Oh yeah! USA makes World Cup sweet 16 after late Donovan heroics

USA beat Algeria 1-0 with less than three minutes to play to make the sweet 16 of the World Cup today. With something like 8-9 American shots on goal, and several dangerous counterattacks by the Algerians, it was one of the most exciting U.S. soccer games I’ve ever seen.

    Told you you were too harsh after the England game. :)

    Tonight’s result means that one of the United States, Uruguay, South Korea or Ghana are guaranteed to be semi-finalists. That’s what it meant to the US for winning the group.
