U.S. midfielder Clint Dempsey will miss this Saturday’s qualifier at Honduras after suffering a shoulder injury with his European club team, the US Soccer Federation reported today.
“Dempsey, who sits in second place amongst U.S. goalscorers in 2010 qualifying with five goals, will be evaluated throughout the week to determine his availability for the USA’s final qualifier against Costa Rica on Oct. 14 in Washington, D.C.”
It’s a blow to the team, but keep in mind Dempsey has been off his game a little in recent months. Kickoff is at 10 pm Eastern, on closed circuit TV or illegal streaming online.
